Santiago de Cali - Valle del Cauca

Cali is the capital of the departamento of Valle del Cauca; it has an n average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. Cali is also called the World Capital of Salsa Dance. (Being the most representative event, the Fair of Cali, “Feria de Cali which takes place every year just after Christmas Eve and last 5 days until December the 30th”. Cali is also the biggest Colombian Sugar Production Center.

The main touristic sites in Cali are: Parque de la Caña de Azucar, The Religious Complex of San Francisco, The Ermita Church, The Three Crosses Mount, The Sebastian de Belalcazar Statue, The Archaeological Museum, The Gold Calima Museum of the Bank of the republic, The Pan-American Park,

The artisanal Park, Loma de la Cruz, The Pance River and The Zoo. Also Cali celebrates the Fair of Cali every year at the end of December, which makes it the best tie to visit and have fun and enjoy the best entertainment.
Our Gastronomy, has its initial point with the traditional harvest of sugar cane, which is seen in the fabulous desserts offered, the Cocadas, the Cow Leg Jelly, and the Macetas del Valle ( sweet dolls and flowers, that abound in June, the day before of San Pedro). Other typical great treats are: Pandebonos, the Champus, a drink made of corn and fruits, the Lulada, another fruit drink and the Chontaduro (a very aphrodisiac fruit) and the Sancocho Valluno (the typical soup which is made from potatoes, plantain, cassava and chicken, fish or beef). Esta situado a 20 minutos de Cali, se encuentra entre 1.600 y 4.100 metros de altura sobre el nivel del mar, su temperatura está entre los 5 y los 25 grados centígrados, se realizan actividades de Ecoturismo, se encuentran lugares para visitantes como Topacio (área de camping-agua abundante), Quebrada Honda (camping y sendero educativo), La Teresita, Pico de Loro, Pance y Corea para hacer Camping y Montañismo. Para ir a estos sitios se requiere de Guía y hay que llevar: Repelente contra insectos, Botiquín de primeros auxilios, Linternas, pilas y en general elementos para acampar.
